Glaisdale Parkway Delivery Office – Royal Mail
Glaisdale Parkway Delivery Office, operated by Royal Mail, is one of a network of dedicated delivery offices across the UK for the delivery of mail and collection of parcels.
In a bid to reduce energy costs at the site, CircoSense was identified as a potential energy saving device to lower the hot water fuel costs.
The unit was installed at the delivery office in July 2017, and as part of the “Proof of Concept”, underwent a trial to prove the savings which could be achieved at this particular site. The hot water system uses an Andrews 32/143 auto direct gas fired water heater. To allow for accurate measurement of savings, an hour run meter was fitted across the gas solenoid valve to assist the measurement and verification process.
After the trial period concluded, it was established that the CircoSense3000 had resulted in savings of 42.4% on the cost of heating hot water at the site. In addition, annual savings of 11.56 tonnes were made in carbon savings, with a payback period of 3.17 years.
Martyn Savage, Technical Director at CircoSense commented
We trialled CircoSense at the Glaisdale Delivery Office for Royal Mail, and were delighted with the savings achieved there. We look forward to working with Royal Mail to discover other sites where CircoSense can produce savings.
