Normandy Hotel, Renfrew

The Normandy Hotel is located in Renfrew and offers 141 bedrooms, as well as a restaurant and multiple conference suites, making it a popular place to stay for both leisure and business trips.
In order to continue providing the best level of quality and value to its patrons, the hotel is always on the look out for innovative ways to reduce costs, whilst at the same time reducing the carbon
footprint of the property. CircoSense3000 was identified as an opportunity to reduce the costs of heating hot water in the hotel, whilst reducing carbon emissions.
A risk-free Proof of Concept trial of the revolutionary CircoSense3000 device was conducted in the hotel in August 2016. During this period, CircoSense3000 was installed in the buildings and learned the hot water usage patterns, firstly gathering a baseline reading and then using this data to predict the hot water usage moving forward.
The smart technology of the device then ensured that hot water was always available on demand, whilst turning off the secondary return pump when not required.
After the six-week trial, it was determined that the CircoSense3000 had achieved a saving of 35.8% in hot water energy costs, as well as a reduction in the building’s carbon emissions.
Martyn Savage, CircoSense’s Technical Director, stated:
“We are delighted to have achieved a saving of 35.8% in the Normandy Hotel. This adds to the range of building types which we have proved savings on the cost of heating hot water with the installation of CircoSense. We look forward to working with other hotels to help them save on their hot water fuel costs.”
Parminder Purewal, Owner of the Normandy Hotel, said:
“I am thrilled that the CircoSense technology has helped us to become greener by cutting the hotel’s carbon emissions, whilst at the same time achieving significant savings on our water fuel bills.”
