Greenford Service Centre – Ealing Council

As part of their 2013 – 2018 Energy Strategy, Ealing Council have been working hard to drive down their energy consumption and carbon footprint across their commercial properties. As a forward thinking local authority, the Council have already been at the forefront of many innovative energy conservation technologies, and when introduced to the CircoSense3000 technology, they were excited about the potential savings opportunity across their portfolio and quickly identified a suitable site for installation.

CircoSense3000 was installed at the Greenford Service Centre on a ‘Proof of Concept’ basis, whereby the device was fitted into the boiler room and run for a 6-week cycle.
During this period, the CircoSense3000 device learned the hot water usage patterns of the building, firstly gathering a baseline reading and then using this data to predict the hot water usage moving forward.

The smart technology of the CircoSense3000 device then ensured that hot water was always available on demand, whilst turning off the pump when not required. At the end of the Proof of Concept period, it was determined that CircoSense3000 had resulted in 31% savings on energy costs for hot water for the property, meaning that the Council was able to reduce their bills for heating hot water, as well as reduce their carbon emissions from the property.

David Jolliffe, Managing Director of CircoSense, stated “This ‘Proof of Concept’ at Greenford Service Centre is one of many trials currently running up and down the UK, and as expected has resulted in significant savings in the cost of heating hot water for the client. We look forward to continuing to work with Ealing Council to identify further buildings in their portfolio where CircoSense3000 can produce savings”.

“When we were first presented with the CircoSense3000 device, we were extremely interested in discovering the savings which it could provide on our buildings, and agreed to a trial in our Greenford Service Centre Site. We are delighted at the savings it has produced in both energy costs and carbon emissions.”
